Hamster TNF-Alpha ELISA Kit (Tumor Necrosis Factor Alpha)

Full Name: Hamster TNF-Alpha ELISA Kit (Tumor Necrosis Factor Alpha)
Reactivity: Hamster
Sample Type: Plasma, Biological Fluids, Serum, Tissue Homogenates
Sensitivity: 1.875 ng/ml

TNF-alpha is a 157-amino-acid protein with a molecular mass of 17 kDa. It is produced by natural killer cells, T lymphocytes, activated monocytes, and macrophages, and is primarily present in the form of a homotrimer in different solutions. The human TNF alpha gene was cloned in 1985. It is approximately 3 kilobases long, contains 4 exons, and is located on chromosome 6p21.3. Lymphotoxin alpha (LTA), which is related to the last exon. The three’-UTR of the primary untranslated region (3′-UTR) has an AU-rich segment.

TNF-alpha is essential for regulating the number of precursor osteoclasts in the bone marrow since doing so can enhance the RANK signalling pathway. It also inhibits the recruitment of tyrosine kinase receptors and reduces phosphorylation of CREB and ERK2 in order to attenuate RANK ligand signalling when it binds to its receptor found on osteoclast precursors. It acts on TCR in order to induce signalling cascades that lead to inflammation, autoimmune response and cell death.

Hamster TNF-alpha ELISA kit can be used for analysing concentrations of tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α, DIF, TNF-alpha, TNFA, TNFSF2) in hamster plasma, serum, biological fluids and tissue homogenates.

All reagents supplied need to be stored at 2 °C – 8 °C, unopened reagents will retain reactivity until expiration date. Do not use reagents beyond this date.

I am a first time user and found that your instruction manual was very easy to follow. The insulin ELISA assay performed well and I was happy with the results that were generated.

J. Thomas
Senior Technician / Addenbrooke’s Hospital

I carried out a pilot study comparing the performance of many ELISA assay's from different suppliers and found your kits to be one of the better performers. We observed good linearity and tight replicates.
