Adrenaline (Epinephrine) Research ELISA Kit
INTENDED USE
Adrenaline research ELISA kit can be used for accurately measuring in vitro quantitative levels of epinephrine (adrenaline) in human EDTA-plasma, cell culture and many other biological samples types. This assay has a minimum sensitivity detection limit of 0.25 ng/ml.
BACKGROUND
Epinephrine (adrenaline) is derived from amino acid tyrosine, is a hormone that is secreted by the medulla of the adrenal glands. Can be referred to as a catecholamine since it contains a catechol moiety. In majority of cases it is strong emotions such as anger and fear which can cause adrenaline to be released into the bloodstream, this leads to an increase in blood pressure, heart rate, muscle strangle and sugar metabolism. It is way the body is preparing its self for strenuous activity, this process is often known as the “flight or fight response”.
This epinephrine research ELISA kit is an ideal tool for analysing many different types of diagnostic application, also it can used for various samples types. Adrenaline can cause the smooth muscles which are contained in the lungs to relax by binding to beta-2-adrenergic receptors on bronchiole muscle cells, this enables intensified respiration by causing the bronchioles to relax. Another role is to have an effect in the liver, together with glucagon, adrenaline is able to break down glycogen energy stores. Finally in the heart muscles cells epinephrine binds beta-adrenergic receptors which results in the hearts contraction rate, leading to increased levels of blood being supplied to all the tissues in the body. In modern medicine epinephrine has been used in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and also as injections in order to relieve the symptoms of certain allergic reactions.
This is a flexible competitive assay system which be used for many different biological sample types and volumes. The epinephrine (adrenaline) is extracted by using a cis-diol-specific affinity gel, acylated and then converted enzymatically.
