INTENDED USE
Human influenza B IgG ELISA kit is a method for analysing in-vitro concentrations of human IgG antibodies to influenza B (influenza-B IgG) using plasma or serum. This assay has a minimum analytical sensitivity limit of 1.07 U/ml.
BACKGROUND
Influenza B viruses have only been identified to infect humans and seals. At present there are two co-circulating lineages which are classified according to their antigenic properties on glycoprotein hemagglutinin surface. The two lineages are referred to either B/Victoria/2/87-like or B/Yamagata/16/88-like viruses.
The genome of the virus is approx. 14548 nucleotides long and made up of eight fragments of linear single stranded negative-sense RNA. The influenza B virus capsid is spherical and filamentous, having over 500 surface projection of hemagglutinin and neuraminidase.
CONTENT
All reagents supplied need to be stored at 2 °C – 8 °C, unopened reagents will retain reactivity until expiration date. Do not use reagents beyond this date.
