CA-125 ELISA Kit (Cancer Antigen 125)
INTENDED USE
Human CA-125 ELISA kit is designed for measuring in vitro quantitative levels of cancer antigen 125 (CA-125, carcinoma antigen 125, mucin 16, CA125, carbohydrate antigen 125, MUC16, ) in human plasma and serum. This assay has a minimum sensitivity limit of 0.25 U/ml.
BACKGROUND
Cancer antigen 125 (also known as CA-125, carbohydrate antigen 125, CA125, carcinoma antigen 125, mucin 16 or MUC16), is a vital biomarker which is elevated in the blood of many patients having specific types of cancers or in some cases other benign conditions. In women who have primary epithelial ovarian carcinoma and have undergone first-line therapy, an assay value that is equal to or greater than 35 U/mL was found to indicate the presence of residual tumor.
CA-125 is the most frequently used marker for the detection of epithelial ovarian cancer (including stage I disease), and more than 90% of women who are at the advance stage display elevated levels of it in their blood. It has also be useful in monitoring how the cancer is responding to treatment and predicting the prognosis of the after treatment.

SENSITIVITY
The minimum detection sensitivity level of human cancer antigen 125 (carcinoma antigen 125, CA125, MUC16, mucin 16) using current CA-125 ELISA kit was 0.25 U/ml. The dynamic range for this assay is 25.0 – 600.0 U/ml.
