3-Methylhistidine ELISA Kit (3-MT)
Full Name: 3-Methylhistidine ELISA Kit (3-MT)
Reactivity: Human
Sample Type: Plasma, Biological Fluids, Serum, Tissue Homogenates
Sensitivity: 3.75 nmol/ml
INTRODUCTION
3-Methylhistidine (3-MT or 3MeH) is an amino acid that is found to be present in myosin and actin. This amino acid is regarded as a fundamental constituent of muscle proteins. It has been found in more than 90% of 3-MeH body pool that is present within the skeletal muscles.
During the process of skeletal muscle degradation, it is released and excreted through urine and it is not re-used for any other form of protein synthesis. This urinary secretion of 3-MT is considered as a useful indicator of muscle catabolism.
INTENDED USE
Human 3-methylhistidine ELISA kit is designed for measuring concentrations of 3-methylhistidine (3MT, 3-MT) in human plasma, tissue homogenate, serum and other biological fluids.
